£12M Clean Maritime Demonstrator Competition
The Clean Maritime Demonstration Round 2 competition has two strands:
- Strand 1: Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition Round 2 – Feasibility (this strand)
- Strand 2: Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition Round 2 – Collaborative R&D
Green Tech Boatshow & Clean Marine Innovation showcase 16-18th June
Following the success of the first Green Tech Boat Show last year, the show will take place again this year at its Queen Anne’s Battery, Plymouth, 16-18 June 2022. In 2022 the first day of the Green Tech Boat Show will be focussed exclusively on clean marine innovation, “The Clean Marine Innovation Showcase” will create a unique forum for government, research and business to come together to exchange ideas, showcase new innovations, network and do business. On the agenda – UKShore a £130M programme to decarbonise maritime, Sail GP, Composite Recycling, investment masterclass, how to access R&D tax credits.

A new CEBR report, commissioned by Maritime UK, reveals £116bn economic impact of UK maritime, more than rail and aviation combined.
Maritime 2050 Conference 23rd June
The Mersey Maritime Exchange will take place on Thursday 23rd June 2022, both online and in the magnificent surroundings of Liverpool Town Hall.
The conference is being organised by Mersey Maritime in partnership with Maritime UK and will discuss the progress of the UK Government’s Maritime 2050 report, which sets out the future of the sector over the next three decades.

Smart Sound Plymouth - MASG Seminar
Gain an insight into what exciting projects the Smart Sound Plymouth are working on and get an update on their Wolfson Foundation funding.
The Smart Sound facilitates trials, validation and proving of marine innovative technologies across a diverse environment. All missions will be facilitated by a dedicated team in compliance with MAS codes of conduct and de-conflicted with other water users. From trials in shallow benign environments to deeper hostile waters Smart Sound can facilitate a wide range of conditions to suit the user’s particular requirements.
Connected Places Catapult Maritime Innovation “Flagship” SME accelerator programme
The project will address the core challenges of decarbonisation, digitisation and investment in the maritime ecosystem, by establishing an accelerator program for SMEs to address the challenges identified by maritime stakeholders. Events are planned on 14th June face to face in London and 20th June online.
Defence Infrastructure Organisation SME Supplier Event - 27th June
This event will help to ensure DIO is pursuing and aiming to reach as much of the market as possible, increasing competition and achieving our corporate objective of making it easier to do business with DIO. It will also contribute to DIO creating a more transparent procurement environment/process and emphasise that DIO are actively seeking to encourage new suppliers and entrants, including small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to maximise innovation opportunities.
