Located at Plymouth Science Park, the Health Technology Innovation Hub will build on existing capabilities and assets to accelerate the development and deployment of health technologies in the region and create a regional centre of excellence.
Working in partnership with University of Plymouth, Plymouth City Council, and private sector partner, Renishaw, the HTIH will deliver state-of-the-art facilities for early stage laboratory-based businesses. It will offer access to offices, single user incubation laboratories, clean rooms and R&D Additive Layer Manufacturing equipment (ALM 3D printing), including plastics and surgical grade metals. These facilities will provide access to integrated health research and innovation to provide new, sustainable solutions to some of the healthcare challenges of the 21st Century, with significant economic growth potential.
It will enable the creation of 107 new jobs and support 119 businesses.
The project is being supported with £1.03 million from HotSW LEP’s Getting Building Fund. Work is due for completion by March 2025.
