HotSWLEP proposition to be delivered to Government

Now we’ve had the General Election we have already written to all HOtSW MPs and the Government to highlight our priorities for the area and to secure commitment to our Local Industrial Strategy and the Great South West Partnership.

This letter on behalf of all HOtSW Local Authorities and the LEP highlights the importance of Inclusive and Clean Growth as our underpinning values to raise productivity throughout Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay will continue to gain recognition in Number 10 and can be viewed here.

I look forward to meeting our new MPs and sharing the LEP’s future plans and the strategies we have in place for raising GVA, improving infrastructure and skills, thereby creating high value careers for the local workforce and increased prosperity across all our communities.

Decarbonising our economy whilst increasing productivity will be a challenge but we have a unity of visit and purpose to get on with it – to create England’s first zero carbon region – and we look forward to building on our success in raising the profile of the Great South West with the key Ministers and the Prime Minister and urge him to re-iterate his pre-election focus our region’s potential and a globally significant business location.
