CIOS, Dorset and HotSW Local Enterprise Partnerships are pleased to announce that following a competitive tender exercise the Carbon Trust has been selected as preferred supplier for the Joint Energy Strategy Development Project.
The joint proposal from CIOS, Dorset and HotSW Local Enterprise Partnerships was awarded funding from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to support the development of an energy strategy across the region covered by the three LEPs.
The aim of the project is to develop a coherent strategic framework across the South West peninsula with the actions identified focused around the themes identified in the Government’s Industrial Strategy, namely: transitioning to a low carbon economy; delivering affordable energy; supporting businesses to grow and delivering clean growth.
The key outcomes from the project, which is due complete by the end of March 2018 are:
- LEP energy strategy and a delivery plan
- Recommended implementation and recommendations for cross-LEP governance
- 2 or 3 agreed strategic deliverable future demonstration projects
Stakeholder workshops are being planned for each LEP area in November and details of these will be published soon.
