Digital Skills Innovation : Digital Momentum project

The Digital Momentum project sets out to encourage underrepresented groups to embark on digital career pathways. Providing an opportunity for those with low digital confidence through to those with strong digital competency looking to unlock their next stage of learning.

The are four programmes of digital learning offering different digital competencies and tailored at different ability levels. The four programmes are:-

1.Love Digital 2.0

A ‘female focussed’ digital programme will deliver modular bitesize learning in a day, allowing individuals to pick and choose digital workshops that matched their knowledge gaps.

2.Digital Career Injection – Accredited IT Courses

ITQ Level 1 for Job Seekers through Learn Devon at Bideford Job Centre Plus

If you want to gain a Level 1 or 2 recognised qualification in ICT then this course is for you You will be working on online and paper based materials under the guidance of your tutor to develop your skills in three modules: Word, Excel, and Using the Internet. When you are ready, you will complete electronic assessments and submit them ready for marking. Your tutor will mark them and then they will be put together for your completed portfolio to be submitted for your certificate to be awarded at the end of the course. When you have completed the Level 1 portfolio you may have the opportunity to move on and work towards Level 2. This builds on the work you have completed towards Level 1 and covers three further modules: Improving productivity using ICT, PowerPoint (presentation) Software, and IT Security for Users. You will work on similar materials under the guidance of your tutor, and will complete electronic assessments to submit for your portfolio in the same way

4. Pro Digital Pivot 1.0

The program has been designed taking into account research conducted across the region which highlighted both women and those living in low-income areas are underrepresented in digital roles.

Eligibility for the Program:-

  • Female
    • In a micro or small to medium enterprise who would benefit from digital upskilling
    •  In work who wish to retrain and access a new digital career
    • Outside off work looking to re-engage with the labour market.
  • Digital talent from within bottom 20% most deprived wards within the Heart of the South West region
