The HotSW Careers Hub is a collection of more than 40 secondary schools and FE colleges located across the Heart of the South West (HotSW) Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area. Operating in Somerset, Devon, Torbay and Plymouth, The Careers Hub is one of 20 pilots to be chosen for implementation by The Careers and Enterprise Company, Work commenced on 1 September 2018 and is scheduled to conclude on 31 August 2020. The Hub will also host the already well-established Enterprise Advisor Network.
The Careers Hub is seeking to recruit an experienced professional to fulfil the role of Enterprise Co-ordinator (SEND) working in Somerset. This specialist Enterprise Co-ordinator will be required to manage a portfolio of up to 20 special schools across Somerset and co-ordinate a team of volunteer Enterprise Advisors from local employers to deliver both Careers Hub and Enterprise Advisor Network contracted activity.
The post holder will have significant experience of education and progression routes to employment for young people with SEND, including supported internships. The role will include ensuring all participating special schools are matched with an appropriate Enterprise Advisor, as well as sharing good practice, creating innovative approaches to careers education for SEND young people and promoting the benefits of a fully inclusive recruitment programme with employers. The Enterprise Co-ordinator (SEND) will be expected to be the technical expert in the delivery of Careers and Enterprise Company programmes, act as an advisor on achievement of the Gatsby benchmarks and provide expertise on delivering enterprise education in a SEND setting. There will also be a requirement to maintain electronic records and use a variety of IT systems to produce information and data concerning their portfolio.
