Recruitment underway for Chief Executive

High calibre candidates are being sought by the Heart of the South West (HotSW) Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) in a bid to recruit a new Chief Executive.

With the advent of funding from central government, the position is now secure for at least the next two years, so the partnership can move from an interim arrangement to a formal contract.

“This is a crucial and exciting position,” said Adam Chambers, LEP Board member and Chief Executive of Peninsula Enterprise, who is responsible for the recruitment.

“We are looking for someone with huge drive and dynamism, who understands the complex economic and political landscape at local and national levels, as well as the challenges and opportunities of working in partnership with the public and private sector.

“We hope the right candidate will be resourceful, with an extensive existing network of contacts although they must also be able to foster excellent relationships at speed. Our LEP has a significant footprint and it is important that we can access our fair share of funding, particularly as a rural area, in a competitive environment.

“The current situation has stood us in good stead, but we now need to ensure we have a more permanent set up, and work on our plans for growth. It is an extremely demanding environment, and we are committed to ensuring the best for all our communities. With the right person in place, we are well positioned to achieve sustainable economic growth and help our businesses compete successfully on a global basis.”

Interested candidates are asked to contact Reed Recruitment by 23 January with a copy of their CV; more details are on http://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/chief-executive/22462119#/jobs/chief-executive-in-south-west-england.

The successful applicant is likely to be in post by early 2013.
